…Charges troops to be highly professional in their daily conduct

The General Officer Commanding(GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola has on 27 January 2026 paid a maiden visit to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The visit is part of his familiarization tour of formations and units under the Division as he assumed command on 20th January 2026.

The GOC on arrival at Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade, was received and briefed by the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Godwin Nwamba on the activities of the Brigade.

In his address to troops during the visit, the GOC charged the troops to be highly professional in their daily conduct and to take every operation very seriously wherever they find themselves.

He stated that he was at the Brigade to pass the message of the Chief of Army Staff(COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu to the last soldier about his Command Philosophy which is hinged on 5 pillars of Professionalism, Robust Administration, Operational Efficiency, Strategic Cooperation and Exemplary Leadership. He further stated that he wants all the soldiers under his command to know all this.

The pillars he said are hinged on the foundation of the soldier first culture. He said that the 5 pillars and foundation if properly adopted by every soldier would lead to mission success and that is what the COAS is committed to.

He explained that the operational successes being recorded in the country is as a result of the COAS practical leadership.

He noted that the massive improvement in the fight against insecurity in the country is because of the COAS Command Philosophy.

A statement signed by Major Idereghi Samuel Akari, assistant director army public relations,35 Artillery Brigade said the GOC was taken on a guided tour of the Barracks. He also visited 81 Base Ammunition Depot Lafenwa and 12 Field Engineer Regiment Ijebu-Ode.

Highlights of the visit were signing of visitors’ books, presentation of souvenirs, group photographs and addresses to troops.
