NSCDC, Air Warfare and Doctrine Center to Strengthen Air-Ground Synergy in Kebbi

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kebbi State Command, Commandant Kabir Abubakar Alkamawa, on Monday received the Commandant of the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre (AWDC), Air Vice Marshal Garba Ibrahim Jibiya, and members of his entourage on a courtesy visit at the State Command Headquarters, with the aim of strengthening Air-Ground Synergy.

The visit was part of the core mandate of the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre (AWDC), aimed at facilitating effective integration between air, land, and maritime forces during joint operations, as well as identifying existing gaps and constraints in air-ground collaboration with a view to strengthening operational effectiveness across the country.

Speaking earlier, Air Vice Marshal Garba Ibrahim Jibiya, emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between the Nigerian Air Force and ground security agencies, noting that effective air support remains crucial to successful ground operations.

Also speaking, Wing Commander Getso disclosed that the AWDC plans to conduct capacity-building and training programmes for all relevant stakeholders, particularly in the areas of communication and strategic coordination, to enhance joint operational outcomes.

In his response, NSCDC Commandant Kabir Abubakar Alkamawa, while welcoming the delegation, expressed appreciation for the visit, assuring them of the Command’s maximum support and continued cooperation to achieve its desired objectives.

Commandant Alkamawa, reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to sustaining and strengthening existing synergy with the military, describing the Civil Defence as a “younger partner” that will continue to work closely with the Armed Forces for national security.

He also commended the AWDC leadership for the visit, stating that it came at a critical and timely moment, given the prevailing security challenges, and would greatly enhance operational coordination in the State.

The visit underscores the shared commitment of security agencies to improved collaboration, capacity development, and seamless air–ground integration in safeguarding lives and critical national assets in Kebbi State.

The Air Vice Marshal was accompanied by Group Captain H. N. Gummit, Wing Commander Getso, Squadron Leader M. Ismail, Flight Lieutenant P. P. Kasimu, Flight Lieutenant Y. U. Aminu, and other members of the delegation.
