Sunday, 11th January 2026. The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council undertook a series of official, political, and administrative engagements aimed at consolidating grassroots support, strengthening governance delivery, overseeing key infrastructural interventions, and reinforcing stakeholder and party relations across the Local Government Area.
The day commenced with a supervision visit to selected residential quarters within the Zazzau Emirβs Palace, Zaria, where the Chairman led a team of engineers to assess both ongoing and completed works. The Emir of Zazzau personally guided the Chairman and his team around the project sites.
These projects, facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON (Iyan Zazzau), form part of broader efforts to improve public infrastructure and preserve historical institutions within Zaria.
Thereafter, the Chairman attended the 24th Qurβanic Graduation Ceremony of the Magaji Abdulkadir Shitu Foundation (MASF), held at Kofar Kuyanbana, Gidan Alhaji Magaji Shitu. At the event, twenty-five (25) male and female students successfully completed the memorization of the Holy Qurβan.
In his remarks, the Chairman congratulated the graduands and emphasized the importance of moral discipline, sound character, and the balanced pursuit of both Islamic and Western education, while reaffirming his administrationβs commitment to supporting religious, educational, and social development initiatives.
Subsequently, the Chairman received a courtesy and appreciation visit from the family of the late Sheikh Mainasara Liman, who commended his sustained support and humanitarian interventions.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for discussions on other community-related issues of importance.I
n line with efforts to strengthen party cohesion and grassroots mobilization, the Chairman met with leaders of the Mabuga Waya APC Support Group, led by Malam Abubakar Nabango, and the Wusasa Amalgamated APC Support Group, led by Mr. Rogers Labaran Iben.
During the meeting, the Wusasa Amalgamated APC Support Group presented a letter of appreciation, while the Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to sustained partnership and collective progress.
Further political engagements included a courtesy visit by the Old Councillors Forum of Zaria Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. Skipper, as well as representatives of the Dankwara Forum, Tudun-Wada, Zaria.
The Chairman reiterated his support for the forum as a unifying social and developmental platform that promotes cohesion across wards and communities within the Local Government.
The Zazzau Women and Youths Support Group, led by Hajiya Maryam, also paid a courtesy visit and presented an Award of Excellence to the Chairman in recognition of his administrationβs policies and programmes targeted at women and youth empowerment.
Similarly, the Unguwar Kaya Inda Rai Women Cooperative Society visited to commend the Chairman for his consistent commitment to women-focused initiatives and inclusive governance.
Additionally, members of the APC Old Excos Forum from the thirteen (13) wards of Zaria Local Government paid a courtesy visit to express appreciation for the Chairmanβs continued support and leadership. Strategic political and developmental issues affecting both the party and the Local Government were extensively discussed during the meeting.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary office of the chairman Ishaq Galadima reports that the Chairman continued to engage with numerous individuals and groups on matters of governance, party organization, and community development until late in the night, reflecting his administrationβs openness, accessibility, and commitment to inclusive leadership.
