Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery across Zamfara State, with particular emphasis on maternal and child health services.
The Governor gave this assurance during an inspection visit to Shinkafi Local Government Area, where he met with members of the Ward Development Committee of the Women and Children Welfare Clinic (WCWC) Primary Healthcare Centre in Shinkafi.
A statement signed by Sulaiman Isa Public Relations officer ministry of health said during the visit, Governor Lawal inspected the WCWC Primary Healthcare Centre in Shinkafi town, which has been awarded for total renovation.
He expressed satisfaction with the facility and stressed the importance of functional, well equipped primary healthcare centres in improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.In another development, the Governor also inspected the Women and Children Welfare Clinic (WCWC) Hospital in Shinkafi.
The inspection, he noted, further demonstrates his administration’s commitment to strengthening maternal and child healthcare services in line with global best practices.
Governor Lawal reiterated that investment in primary healthcare remains a key component of his Rescue Agenda, aimed at reducing maternal and child mortality and improving overall health outcomes across the state.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, was among members of the Governor’s entourage during the inspection visit, alongside other senior government officials.
