The Deputy Governor of Borno State. Umar Usman Kadafur, has led a high-powered government delegation to Yobe State to commiserate with the state government and families affected by the recent boat mishap that claimed the lives of over 25 persons, with several others still missing.
The delegation, sent on behalf of Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, included the Commissioners for Commerce and Religious Affairs, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and a former Commissioner of Commerce.
They were received by the Yobe State Governor, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, at the Government House in Damaturu.
Speaking during the visit, Deputy Governor Kadafur said Governor Zulum, who is currently on a local government tour, was deeply shocked by the tragic incident and immediately directed that a delegation be sent to sympathise with the Yobe State Government and people.

Kadafur noted that Borno and Yobe States share long-standing historical, cultural, and social ties, stressing that whatever affects one state equally affects the other, hence the need for solidarity at this difficult time.
