Gombe Govt Signs Contract Agreement for Infrastructure Projects

In a landmark move to accelerate development, the Gombe State Government has signed contract agreement for critical infrastructure projects in the State.

The ceremony, held at the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transportation was attended by government officials and representatives of contracting firms.

Speaking after signing the contracts agreement on behalf of State Government, the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transportation, Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu,PhD commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his commitment and zeal in in bringing succour to his people.

Engr. Kallamu, congratulates the Contractors and urged them not to compromise standard in executing good qualitative work and deliver the project as agreed on the contract agreement documents.

“His Excellency’s dedication to transforming Gombe into a model state is evident in these projects. We urge the contractors to adhere strictly to specifications and deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe,” Engr. Kallamu stated.

He further assured the contractors of the government’s full support, emphasizing that any deviation from agreed standards would not be tolerated.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mallam Danladi Adamu, said these projects are aligned with His Excellency’s vision for a modern Gombe, he futher outlined the projects, which were approved during the last State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of 2025, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON.

The projects include; Renovation and upgrade of the Gombe International Airport, Lawanti, Construction of roads and other essential facilities at the Qatar Foundation site along the Southern By-pass, Gombe and Construction of a Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS) Area Office in the Shehu Abubakar District.

Others are, construction of 6.3 kilometres of road within the newly developed Family Homes Estate, behind NNPC Depot Tunfure, extending to connect inner suburbs of Northern Tunfure, and construction of road from ATC Gombe linking the GSU Express road.

Also among the approvals, is the reconstruction of Layin Speaker road and its extension to connect with Kasuwan Mata Road and construction of additional roads within the Special Capital Development Zone, including the extension of the new express road from Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) through the new State Secretariat Complex under construction, passing through Shongo Housing Estate and linking up with the Western By-pass.

Speaking on behalf of the Contractors, Engineer Ibrahim Abba Gana of Tafamed Engineering Limited expressed their delight for the opportunity given to them to execute the projects, he re-echoed their commitment in sticking to specifications and completing the projects as contained in the contract agreement.
