The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has officially flagged off the Public Enlightenment Programme, popularly known as BITA, for the 2026 Hajj operations.
A statement signed Ibrahim Datti Makarfi, Public Relations officer of the state pilgrims welfare board said the flag-off ceremony took place on Saturday ,3rd January 2026, at the Kinkinau Qur’anic Recitation Centre, Kaduna.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, who was represented by the Administrative Secretary, Malam Baba Rufa’i, described the BITA programme as a critical pillar of the Agency’s Hajj preparations.
According to him, the programme is designed to educate, inform, guide, and adequately prepare intending pilgrims spiritually, physically, and administratively for the sacred journey to the Holy Land.
He emphasized that the welfare of Kaduna State pilgrims remains the topmost priority of the present administration, assuring that the Agency is fully committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience for all pilgrims.
Through the Public Enlightenment Programme, intending pilgrims will be enlightened on:Hajj rites and Obligations health and safety Measures Saudi laws and Regulations discipline, patience, and good Conduct unity and cooperation among pilgrims.
The Chairman noted that a well-informed pilgrim is a successful pilgrim, stressing that the programme is aimed at eliminating confusion, reducing errors, and ensuring strict compliance with established guidelines.
The Agency also highlighted the ongoing reconstruction of the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp at Mando as another major milestone in its efforts to enhance pilgrims’ welfare.
Malam Salihu S. Abubakar assured the people of Kaduna State that the project will be completed before the commencement of the 2026 Hajj operations.
Upon completion, the camp is expected to meet modern and international standards, Offering improved Accommodation enhanced sanitation Facilities better medical and welfare services more conducive and well-organised environment
This development, he said, reflects the Agency’s determination to continuously raise the standard of pilgrims’ welfare and logistics in the state.
The Chairman used the occasion to express profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims.
He noted that the Governor’s consistent backing of the Agency particularly the approval and support for the reconstruction of the Hajj Transit Camp and other welfare-driven initiatives clearly demonstrates his people-centred and compassionate leadership style.
On behalf of the Kaduna State Special Hajj Committee, management and staff of the Agency, and all intending pilgrims, the Chairman expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Governor for prioritising the comfort and dignity of Kaduna State pilgrims.
He further called on all intending pilgrims to take the enlightenment programme seriously, attend all BITA sessions, ask questions where necessary, and strictly adhere to the guidelines that will be provided.
The Agency also commended Islamic scholars, facilitators, media partners, and all stakeholders for their cooperation and support toward ensuring a hitch-free Hajj operation.
