GOC 3 DIVISION AND COMMANDER OPERATION ENDURING PEACE DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED SENIOR OFFICERS

In a vibrant ceremony designed to boost morale and recognize excellence, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Major General EF Oyinlola, decorated newly promoted senior officers of OPEP.

The investiture was held at the Rhino Officers’ Mess, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, and attended by government officials, senior military officers, heads of security and paramilitary agencies, as well as families, friends, and well-wishers.

Addressing the gathering, Major General Oyinlola congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotion, applauding their outstanding performance in Operation ENDURING PEACE.

He charged them to lead by example, remain committed to duty, and sustain the high standards that earned them the elevation.

The Commander emphasized the importance of troop welfare, urging the officers to be deliberate, strategic, and considerate in their leadership and decision-making.

He further underscored the critical role of family support in an officer’s career, noting that operational effectiveness is often strengthened by stability and encouragement from the home front.

He expressed profound appreciation to the spouses for their unwavering support, which he said contributed significantly to the officers’ professional growth and success.

In his goodwill message, Colonel GC Ohaeri congratulated the newly promoted officers and described their advancement as a call to greater responsibility.

He reminded them that they are now role models and must uphold exemplary conduct worthy of emulation by their subordinates.

Similarly, the Chief of Staff OPEP, Brigadier General MS Sule, commended the officers for their dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service, which he noted set them apart for promotion.

He urged them to redouble their efforts and remain steadfast in their loyalty to the Nigerian Army and the nation.

Also in his remarks, the Chairman of Shendam Local Government, Honourable Kemi Nicholas, extolled the virtues of the newly promoted officers, commending them for their immense contributions to peace and stability in Plateau State.

He assured the GOC of his continuous support to OPEP in its mission of securing the lives and property of the people in the state.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the promoted officers, Colonel OO Ogunrinde expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for approving their promotion and thanked the GOC for his strategic leadership and mentorship.

He also appreciated the support of their spouses and assured that the newly promoted officers would exceed expectations in their new ranks.

The newly decorated officers include Colonel OO Ogunrinde, Commanding Officer, 332 Artillery Regiment; Major SE Amakwe, Officer Commanding Light Aid Detachment, Operation ENDURING PEACE; and Major MA Basorun, Acting Commander, Sub-Sector 1, Operation ENDURING PEACE.

A statement signed by Aliyu Danja, Acting Deputy Director army public relations,3 Division Nigerian Army said the ceremony featured the decoration of the officers, goodwill messages, refreshments, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
