The Commander Corps of Artillery (CCA), Major General JO Adeyemo, has paid a working visit to Headquarters 34 Artillery Brigade, where he commissioned a number of welfare-driven projects executed within the Brigade.
During the visit, the CCA commended the leadership of the Brigade for successfully conceptualising and executing the projects aimed at improving the welfare, morale, and operational effectiveness of troops.
He noted that the completed projects clearly align with the Strategic Vision of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, which places strong emphasis on personnel welfare as a cornerstone for enhanced combat readiness and professionalism.
Maj Gen Adeyemo stressed that welfare-oriented infrastructure remains critical to sustaining motivation and efficiency across formations, adding that commanders at all levels must continue to prioritise initiatives that directly impact the living and working conditions of personnel.
He encouraged the Brigade to sustain the tempo of development while ensuring proper maintenance of existing facilities.
The CCA specifically lauded the efforts of the Acting Garrison Commander, Lt Col J Abuo, and the Commanding Officer, 342 Artillery Regiment, Lt Col BB Laah, for their commitment and leadership in the execution of the projects.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Commander 34 Artillery Brigade, Maj Gen IM Abbas, welcomed the CCA to the Brigade, describing the visit as timely and reassuring. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to the strategic objectives of the Nigerian Army.
The CCA was also presented with an operational brief on the Brigade’s area of responsibility, ongoing operations, and measures being undertaken to enhance mission effectiveness.
Those present during the brief included the Chief of Staff, 34 Artillery Brigade, Col SM Ahmed; the Acting Garrison Commander, Lt Col J Abuo; and the Commanding Officers of 341, 342, and 343 Artillery Regiments.The Commander Corps of Artillery later visited 343 Artillery Regiment, and 5 Battalion at Elele Barracks, where he interacted with officers and soldiers.
A statement signed by Major Hashimu Saad Abdullahi, Assistant Director, Army public relations 34 Artillery Brigade,said highlights of the visit included an impressive gun drill demonstration by troops of 343 Artillery Regiment, showcasing their professionalism and combat readiness.
This was followed by the presentation of souvenirs to the CCA and a group photograph to commemorate the visit.
