As part of activities marking Nigerian 65th independence day celebrationΒ the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga , alongside his friend and brother, Hon. Engr. Isa Haruna Muhammad (IHAMO), Member representing Zaria Kewaye Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, joined the vibrant Independence Day celebration held at the Wusasa Football Playing Ground.
At the event, the Chairman and Hon. Isa Haruna Muhammad took the parade salute from women groups drawn from various churches, including:
Baptist Church
Living Faith Church
Anglican Communion
ECWA Women Fellowship
COCIN Church, Wusasa
Catholic Women
Chapel of Resurrection, FCE Zaria
Christ Apostolic Church.
During the occasion, the Chairman was honored with an Award of Excellence in Governance and Inclusiveness, in recognition of his commitment to fostering peace, unity, and inclusive development across Zaria Local Government, irrespective of religious affiliation.
Also on that day, the Chairman led a team of engineering consultants from Al-Muscho Engineering Services Ltd, headed by Engr. Muhammed Mustapha Musa, MNSE, on a comprehensive inspection tour of ongoing road projects facilitated by the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, Iyan Zazzau. The inspection covered critical road and bridge projects, including:

The visitation focused on monitoring progress, ensuring quality delivery, and addressing identified lapses. Contractors were directed to urgently rectify failed sections of the roads in line with project standards.
Back at the Local Government Secretariat, the Chairman received nine inmates recently released from the Zaria Correctional Centre, as part of activities marking the birthday of the Speaker, which coincided with the Independence Day celebration. He encouraged the released inmates to embrace positive change and reintegrate productively into society. The Council assured them of support through educational opportunities and targeted financial assistance to improve their livelihoods.
The day concluded with a courtesy visit by the Fans of Adda Association, who presented the Chairman with a cake in celebration of Nigeriaβs 65th Independence Anniversary. Their gesture symbolized unity, friendship, and the collective hope for a stronger nation.
